Coworker told me my bike lights looked weak and now I ride totally different

Last week a guy at work pointed out my little blinkies were barely visible from 50 feet away in the morning fog. He showed me his Cygolite setup and I picked up a 600-lumen front light the same day. Has anyone else had a random person change your commute gear just by speaking up?

Got a 800-lumen headlight after a guy at a bike shop casually mentioned my "courtesy light" wasn't doing anything in the rain. Total game changer. Now I can actually see potholes and debris on the bike path before I hit them. Those little blinky lights are fine for being seen in a parking lot but they're useless on dark streets or in fog. Make sure you aim it slightly down so you don't blind oncoming traffic though.
