inSpent $60 on a cat meme template bundle and it was a total waste
Learned that lesson with a holiday set last year, rough way to find out.

inJust learned that the 'Rugrats' theme song was written by Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo
Three Completely Different Shows is a pretty wild resume line, gotta respect that kind of range. In my experience, usually the composer for something like that gets pigeonholed into one sound forever. Your mileage may vary, but I think that weird 90s energy came from guys who just said yes to everything and made it work somehow.

inThat convo with my buddy about filler episodes hit different
Matt's onto something there, but he probably doesn't see what the slower parts do for the bigger picture. I've been in that spot before where a buddy swore a stretch was boring until I walked him through it scene by scene... once you realize those quieter moments are setting up payoff later, it clicks. Try asking him what his favorite moment from a slower episode is, bet he'll name something that only works because of the build up. The trick is showing how the tension in those parts makes the big moments hit harder. He might come around if you point out how a single line or a look in those scenes changes everything later on.

inWarning: That $200 drone I bought on a whim is now a tree ornament
Feel you on that. Mine's somewhere in a lake upstate, still gives me a little knot when I drive past and see the water. Hope your tree blinks out soon so you don't have to look at it every night.

inQuestion about generic brand batteries - are they actually killing my kids' toys faster?
Got a buddy named Mike who learned this the hard way with his son's RC car. He bought a 12 pack of no name batteries from some discount store thinking he was saving big. That car went maybe 15 feet before it started crawling like a snail, and the kid was just sitting there disappointed. Meanwhile @gavinhunt is absolutely right about those high drain toys, they need real power. Mike finally broke down and got some Duracell and the thing was zipping around the driveway for almost an hour straight. He told me later he threw the rest of those cheap batteries in the TV remote where they at least lasted a while.
