Lights or high-vis vest, which one actually keeps you safer?
Been commuting 12 miles round trip in Seattle for about 3 years now. Last winter I ran just a cheap front light and a reflective vest. Got honked at three times in one week. Switched to a bright taillight with a flashing mode and a headlight that throws a decent beam, ditched the vest. Two weeks later, no close calls. My buddy swears by the vest, says drivers see the reflective stuff way better in rain. I think the light makes you look like a vehicle, not a pedestrian. Anyone else test both sides and notice a real difference?
