Showerthought: riding the same route backwards for a month taught me more than any map app
Last month my usual street got torn up for repaving near the bridge in Portland, so I flipped my whole route and rode it the other direction both ways. Turns out there's a protected lane I never noticed, plus the light at 12th actually gives bikes a head start if you hit it from the north side. Is it weird that I want to map my normal commute from the opposite direction once a season now?
