inRatcheting wrenches vs. the old fixed ones, I finally get the hype after one stubborn caliper bolt in a Subaru
Watch your knuckles though, flex heads slip easy on greasy bolts.

inOverheard a guy at Goodwill say tapes warp if stored flat, is that true?
Flat storage is like a game of tape roulette, you never know which one is gonna crack under pressure. I had a box of old VHS in the attic for ten years, stacked like pancakes, and only the bottom two came out sounding like they were chewing gravel. The rest played fine, so it's not a guarantee, but why take the chance with Sleepaway Camp? That movie is a masterpiece of terrible acting and anyone who ruins it deserves a lifetime of rewinding with a pencil. Those big clamshell boxes are the real traitors though, they always look so sturdy and then betray you when you least expect it. Honestly, I'd lay them flat but only if you're prepared to accept the chaos, kind of like trusting a guy named "Chad" with your secrets. If the tape path starts wobbling, just blame the Portland humidity and move on.

inThat guy at the bike shop told me I was ruining my chain by cleaning it too often
Felt this hard, my last mechanic told me the same thing and I ended up buying a new cassette two months later.

inHeard a kid say it's 'lame' to share a controller, is couch co-op dying?
Couch co-op is definitely not dead, but that kid is missing the point. Sharing a controller is half the fun because you're in the same room, yelling at each other. Online play is fine for competitive stuff, but games like Overcooked or Mario Kart are way better when you can see the other person's face when they screw up. Your kids might come around to it once they realize playing online with strangers isn't the same as trash talking their sibling in person.
