Finally picked Slow Horses over The Bear and it was the right call

I had two hours between finishing up a poodle groom and my next appointment last Thursday, so I finally had to choose between starting Slow Horses or catching up on The Bear. I went with Slow Horses because I kept hearing it was more of a slow burn, and honestly I was in the mood for something twisty instead of high stress. Three episodes in and I was hooked, not even mad that the pacing is deliberate. The characters feel like real people who make dumb choices, and Gary Oldman is just a greasy mess in the best way. I think the spy stuff is easier to binge for me because it gives my brain a break from how intense my day gets. Has anyone else had to pick between two critically loved shows and regretted going with the wrong one first?

Six poodle grooms and a half finished episode of The Bear later, I still haven't figured out if I made the right call either. My attention span is basically a wet noodle at this point, so Slow Horses was probably the safer bet.

Fifty times I picked The Bear over something else and regretted it every single time.
