That night at my cousin's place in Tulsa when a busted DVD player got me hooked on real TV
Back around 2009 I was at my cousin's house in Tulsa for a weekend and their DVD player ate disc 2 of a show we were halfway through, so we flipped on their older brother's box set of The Wire instead. We watched 4 episodes straight that night and I didn't get to bed until almost 3 in the morning, which was a big deal since I had a 7am shift. Before that I thought TV was just whatever came on at 8 and you caught it or you didn't, and I never gave a full season of anything a real shot. Something about having every episode ready to go at once made it feel more like reading a book than watching a channel, and I've been hooked on that feeling since. Now I plan whole weekends around a show and my wife thinks I'm nuts, but she does the same thing with her baking shows so she can't say much. What was the show that got you hooked on watching stuff back to back?
