The 2x speed trick finally got me through slow shows

I used to hate watching shows that dragged in the middle, almost quit The Americans three times. Then my sister told me to just bump the playback speed to 1.5x during the boring parts. I tried it on episode 4 and suddenly I breezed through the next 10 episodes in two days. Now I finish everything from procedurals to slow burn dramas without losing interest. Has anyone else found a speed setting that works for specific genres?

Wait, isn't 1.5x the standard speed for podcasts, not shows?

Oh for sure, 1.5x is practically the only way I consume podcasts now, but for TV it's a game changer. Maybe show creators should just shave off 10 minutes per episode so we don't have to speed through all the long shots of characters staring at walls
