Rant: Paid $60 for bird silhouette decals that the sparrows treated as a new perch spot

I read all these reviews about those window decals working like magic. So I dropped $60 on a big pack of them. Put them up exactly like the instructions said. Two days later I watch a sparrow land right on the owl silhouette and just sit there. Then it pooped on my window. The decal did nothing except give the birds a fancy bathroom break. Has anyone else had birds actually use those things as a resting spot or did I just get a weird batch?
