Spent $90 on window decals before I figured out the actual problem was my feeder placement
I put up those little hawk silhouette decals on my big living room window in March and still got three strikes in two weeks, which made no sense to me. Then a guy at the Wild Birds Unlimited in Grand Rapids asked me one question, where's your feeder, and it turned out I had it hanging about two feet from the glass. He explained birds fly toward the feeder, get startled, and the window is right there in their escape path, so the decals were basically useless in that spot. I moved the feeder out to about ten feet and haven't had a single hit since April. Should I still keep some kind of film on the glass for the random ones, or is the feeder move enough?
