Serious question, my forge ran hotter last Tuesday than it has all month and I can't figure out why
I was working a batch of 1084 leaf spring stock in my shop out back and the coal bed just took off, hit welding heat on a 1 inch bar faster than it usually does on a 3/4 inch piece. Only thing different was I swapped to a new bag of Nut Coal I picked up in Athens and cleaned my tuyere out with a piece of rebar right before lighting. Was it the fuel or am I just chasing ghosts here?
