Paid $40 for a Blender addon, then found the same thing built in
I saw a tutorial pushing this retopology tool for $40 and figured it would save me weeks of pain on my first character model. Downloaded it, watched three videos, and ran it on my mesh. The result looked like a spider had a seizure, so I went back to manual edge loops out of frustration. Later I noticed the free RetopoFlow alternatives and even Blender's own tools could do the job for zero dollars. That was two weeks ago and I still feel dumb about the purchase. Anyone else burned cash on a shiny addon before realizing the basics were enough? What free tools actually worked for you instead?
