inWhy does nobody admit that waking up slow beats an alarm every time
Woke up last Saturday to my cat walking on my chest instead of my phone screaming at me, and it was honestly the best I have felt in weeks. No jolt, no panic, just slowly blinking at the ceiling until my brain caught up with my body. When my alarm goes off I feel like I got yanked out of a dream by my collar, and the fog hangs around till lunch. I have tried the fancy sunrise clocks, the ones that glow orange, and even they feel like a trick compared to just leaving the blinds cracked. Letting the light creep in on its own time makes the whole morning feel less like a fight.

inPSA: switched from paper punch lists to a shared note on my phone and the walkthrough went way faster
Would the paper crowd even care if you just showed them the phone and let them tap the checkboxes themselves? That part seals it for me, since the client gets to do something instead of just watching you scroll. Do that on every walkthrough and nobody asks for a printout again.

inOverheard a lead say torque wrenches are just suggestions, had to walk away
Gotta flip it the other way, what about the torque wrench that's never been dropped but sits in a dusty toolbox for years? That calibration cert means nothing if the intern borrowed it and torqued a rusty bolt to spec, now the threads are buggered anyway. Half the game is knowing when the tool is lying to you because the metal is telling you something else.
