Ngl my Thursday game night in Gary went from 6 players to 2 and it was the best night of the month
Honestly last Thursday I set up a six player night at my buddy's place in Gary and three people bailed by 5pm and one guy showed up sick so we sent him home. We were stuck with two players and a stack of games that need a crowd, so we grabbed a two player war game off the shelf I had been avoiding for 8 months because I thought it looked too dense. We played it twice back to back and the second game ran almost 3 hours and I did not check my phone once. With six people its all side talk and rule arguments and somebody always wants to switch games after 40 minutes. With two you actually have to pay attention to what the other person is doing and the decisions feel heavy in a good way. I used to think a game night under 4 people was a bust and now I want to run a small two player night once a month. What is your cutoff, do you still play if only 2 people show up?
