Shoutout to the game store in Portland that let me demo a 4 hour wargame on a Tuesday
I walked into Guardian Games last week around noon, just killing time before a dentist appointment. This older guy at the counter asked if I wanted to try a new miniatures game, said he had a table all set up. I told him I only had 90 minutes. He laughed and said we'd do a shortened intro scenario. Three hours later I completely forgot about my teeth. He walked me through like 12 turns, answered every dumb question I had about line of sight, and even let me use his painted minis. I bought the starter box on the way out, $85. Has anyone else had a store employee basically gift them a full rules tutorial for free? That kind of patience feels rare these days.
