The 2 hour rule for game nights that killed analysis paralysis
I set a hard stop at 2 hours for every game night at my place in Austin, even if we are mid campaign, and suddenly everyone actually finishes a game instead of staring at the box for 40 minutes. Has anyone else tried a time cap, or do you just let the whole night dissolve into a rules argument?
Man, hard disagree! Cutting everything off at 2 hours just turns a good night into a race against the clock. Half the fun is when everyone gets lost in the world and someone tries a wild move that sparks a 20 minute debate about rules, that's when the real stories happen. Sure, you finish more games, but you're also killing the moments when people actually get into it and start playing loose. I'd rather have one amazing 4 hour session that we talk about for weeks than three rushed games nobody remembers. Why rush through something that's supposed to be about hanging out?
