Took the field weld cert test with a #5 lens instead of my old #10 and passed on the first go
Been fighting arc flash and eye strain for months, so I switched to a gold #5 shade for the 6G pipe test in Gary last month. My lens guy told me most guys running low shade quit because they can't see the puddle edge, but I could finally read the keyhole and passed both coupons. Anyone else make the switch, or am I just lucky the inspector was in a good mood?
