Just realized my book club's copy of 'The Great Gatsby' is missing chapter 7

Last week I went to start our monthly discussion and noticed page 87 jumped to page 112. Turns out the paperback we passed around for years had a printing error from the 90s. Nobody caught it because we all skimmed that chapter. Ended up ordering a replacement from a used shop downtown for $3. Has anyone else found weird defects in older editions?

Wait, are you saying the whole "old sport" thing barely even happens in the book? That's like finding out Darth Vader only has like 12 minutes of screen time. I have a 80s mass market copy of Catcher in the Rye somewhere and the last chapter is literally just blank pages because the printer messed up the binding glue. Makes you wonder how many people finished that book thinking Holden just kind of... stops talking.

Chapter 7 is actually the pivotal one where Gatsby confronts Tom, so that's a wild cut. The trick is Gatsby doesn't actually say "old sport" that many times in the book-it's mostly a movie thing.
