Saw a guy use a pasta roller for book cloth at a craft fair in Philly

I was at a craft fair in Philly last Sunday and this bookbinder had a setup with an old pasta roller machine. He was running strips of book cloth through it to flatten them before gluing. Said it saves him about 15 minutes per batch compared to a bone folder. Has anyone else tried non-book tools like that? I'm tempted to dig my old one out of the closet.

I did the same with my pasta roller for flattening leather scraps, works great.
