Serious question, has anyone else ditched the bone folder for a teflon folder on leather bindings? I swapped last month and the difference is insane.

Yeah the teflon folder thing is blowing up lately. Saw a whole thread on another forum where people were swearing by it for smooth finishes without any marks. Makes sense since it doesn't absorb moisture like bone can. My old bone folder feels like a rock compared to that slick teflon action now.

Honestly I read a deep dive on this last week! Some bookbinders were saying teflon folders don't leave any shiny spots on dark paper, which is a huge deal. My bone one totally does that, it drives me nuts. The science checks out because teflon is so non-stick and inert. It just glides over adhesive without grabbing. I might have to switch teams after hearing all this.
