My bullet journal saved me during a crazy Tuesday at the Denver office

@brooke484's story shows how analog systems often have a quiet edge over digital ones, you know? The physical notebook doesn't need a battery or a login, it just works. That simple reliability can be a real superpower when tech fails.

Pro tip: I started adding a pinch of sugar to my tomato sauce three years ago after a dinner rush in Chicago. It cuts the acid without tasting sweet.

Does that work for jarred sauce too?

Got a reality check on my torque wrench technique from a lead mechanic at the hangar.

Torque wrenches are surprisingly easy to mess up.

The old guy at the hardware store in Spokane changed how I think about water.

Totally agree about the "science experiment" thing. It's not just about temperature, that water is literally alive and changing by the hour. I've seen guys try to stretch a bucket over two days and the second batch is always weaker or sets weird. Fresh water is free, so it's the easiest way to avoid a call back.

Serious question, has anyone else ditched the bone folder for a teflon folder on leather bindings? I swapped last month and the difference is insane.

Honestly I read a deep dive on this last week! Some bookbinders were saying teflon folders don't leave any shiny spots on dark paper, which is a huge deal. My bone one totally does that, it drives me nuts. The science checks out because teflon is so non-stick and inert. It just glides over adhesive without grabbing. I might have to switch teams after hearing all this.
