Watching a guy rebind a hymnal in Kalamazoo changed how I press my spines
I was at a small craft fair in Kalamazoo last month and an older binder let me watch him case in a hymnal. He used a cheap wooden clothes press he got for $15 at a flea market instead of the fancy nipping press, and the hinge came out tighter than mine ever do. Has anyone else found that a lighter touch on the press gives you a better joint?
