Nearly killed my 6 year old monstera by moving it 4 feet toward the window
Two weeks ago I moved my monstera from the corner of my Chicago apartment to right next to the south facing window, figuring it wanted more light. Within 5 days the leaves started curling and I got these crispy brown patches on about 7 leaves. I panicked, grabbed my moisture meter, and found the soil was still soaked because the extra sun had me watering it on the same old schedule. I yanked it back to its old spot, skipped watering for 11 days, and the new growth finally stopped turning black. Anyone else learned the hard way that more light means the plant drinks way faster, not slower?
