Switched from grow lights to a south-facing window after fighting leggy seedlings for two seasons

I always thought artificial lights beat sunlight for starting seeds, but my tomatoes got so tall and weak under LEDs that I moved them to the window sill on a whim and they thickened up in under a week, so has anyone else had better luck with plain old sun over fancy fixtures?

Oh man, I feel this so much. I fought with those expensive LED panels for two seasons straight thinking I was doing something wrong, and my peppers looked like they were trying to escape the pot. Then I just shoved them in a south window on a random Tuesday and they turned into little green bushes practically overnight. It's almost embarrassing how much money I wasted on that grow light setup when my dusty old window sill does the job better. Nature really doesn't care about our fancy gadgets, does it? The sun just has this full spectrum thing that artificial lights can't seem to match.

Nature wins every time @iris394, the sun doesn't lie.
