Heard a young kid call a trowel a 'butter knife' the other day at the supply house
Made me think about how much has changed since I started in the 90s. We used to mix mud by hand on a board, now it's all pre-mixed buckets and laser levels. Anyone else feel like the old school way still gives you a better feel for the wall?

That trowel probably works better than half the junk they sell at the big box stores now lol

Well I'll be. A butter knife. That's a new one on me. I guess if you squint hard enough and ignore the handle and the shape, a trowel and a butter knife do both spread things. But that kid's in for a rude awakening the first time he tries to butter a bagel with a margin trowel. Probably chase that thing right through the bread and into his hand. I blame all these pre-mixed buckets for it. Kids today don't know the satisfaction of working a stiff batch of mud on a hawk until it's just right, they just open a pail and slop it on. Makes me wonder what they'll call a chalk line next, a string cheese?
