Question about a corner that would not line up, spent 3 hours on something that should take 20
Was laying a simple garden wall out back on Saturday, nothing fancy, just a 12 foot run of block about 4 courses high. Had one corner that kept going out of level on me, and every time I fixed it the next course pulled the whole thing with it. Turns out my first block was sitting on a chunk of old mortar I never knocked off the footing, about the size of a golf ball. Pulled it, scraped the footing, relaid it, and the whole corner squared up in 15 minutes. What dumb little thing has cost you half a day on a job that should have been cake?
