I compared name brand glass cleaner to the cheap stuff, and I was shocked

I always bought Windex for my windows, thinking the generic was just watered down. Last month I grabbed the dollar store brand out of desperation and tested them side by side on my sliding glass door. The cheap stuff actually left fewer streaks and cost me like $1.50 less. Has anyone else had a random cleaner swap work out better than they expected?

Ask if you actually tested it on a mirror too. Sliding glass doors have that weird coating sometimes that messes with how glass cleaner dries. I had the same thing happen with a no-name brand on my truck windshield but the generic stuff left a haze on my bathroom mirror. Streak-free on one surface doesn't mean streak-free on all surfaces. What kind of glass did you test it on?

Just test it on different surfaces around your house first. I found out the hard way that cheap glass cleaner works great on windows but leaves a weird film on my car mirrors.
