That time I told my friend her 'vintage' couch was a bedbug trap and she didn't listen
My friend in Columbus found this beautiful velvet couch at an estate sale for $40 and posted about it in our group chat like she'd won the lottery. I was happy for her, really, but then she said she didn't check the seams or bring a flashlight and I just knew it was risky. Last week she texted me a photo of bites on her arm and admitted she'd been sleeping on it for three nights before she noticed. We spent the next two days vacuuming every inch with a handheld and baking soda, and she still has to rent a steamer from the hardware store for $18. I get that thrift finds feel like treasures but I wish more people talked about the inspection part before the posting part. Ever had a cheap find turn into a nightmare like that?
