My $3 spice rack hack made taco night actually affordable
Last month I was staring at my grocery receipt and saw I spent $12 on pre-mixed taco seasoning packets. So I went to the bulk bin at my local WinCo and grabbed individual spices for about $3 total. I mixed my own blend with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and a little smoked paprika. It tastes way better than the packet stuff, plus I can adjust the heat for my kids. Has anyone else switched to bulk herbs and spices to cut costs? I'm curious if it makes a real dent in your monthly food budget.
Honestly, same here, I ditched the packets last year and never looked back. My local co-op has a bulk section too and I grabbed the same spices, plus some oregano and onion powder for like $4. It's crazy how much better my chili tastes now, and I'm not scared to experiment with the measurements anymore since it's so cheap.
