Had a True unit last month with E74 that turned out to be the harness rubbing on the frame by the door hinge. Ohm check on the wires read fine until I wiggled them, then it jumped all over the place. Same code, totally different cause, so yeah it happens.

Did anyone check if the gate battery keeps dying and resetting everything?

Ha, same here! My old Sekonic reads way better in tricky light so I just meter with it and set the Spotmatic by hand.
