We did that with a pot of chili last week, just kept dumping in more beans and it was still awesome lol.

My buddy tried something similar last winter with a giant stew. He just kept adding extra cans of beans and tomatoes whenever more people showed up. It worked great and we had leftovers for days.

Adding extra cans like your buddy did is smart for feeding a crowd... But from my experience, you gotta bump up the spices each time or the stew gets bland. Doing that keeps the flavor rich even with all those extras.
