My grocery bill hit $58 for the week and this sub told me to stop buying chicken breast
Tbh I was pretty proud of getting our family of 3 down to $58 a week here in Toledo, but the second I posted about it people kept saying to swap chicken breast for beans and rice. I tried it for two weeks and my wallet barely noticed, but my kid stopped eating dinner and that costs me more in wasted food. Honestly if cheap chicken at $2.29 a pound is what keeps them fed, I am not switching to dry beans just to shave off 40 cents. Anyone else find that some of the "cheap swaps" end up costing more once you throw out what nobody eats?
