My neighbor said she feeds 4 people on $60 a week and I didn't believe her till she showed me
Ran into my neighbor Rosa at the Aldi on 5th last Tuesday and she mentioned she spends about $60 a week feeding her family of four. I kinda laughed it off in my head because my grocery bill for just me and my kid runs closer to $110. She pulled out her phone and showed me her actual list: dried beans, rice, the big bag of chicken thighs, and whatever veggies are marked down that day. The part that got me was when she said "I don't buy anything that isn't on the list, even if it's a good deal." That rule alone is saving her money I'm probably wasting on impulse stuff. Does anyone else have a hard rule like that, and how do you actually stick to it?
