Our remote work budget meal swap had a hilarious mix-up

We set up a virtual lunch where everyone shared a cheap recipe under $3 per serving. My friend sent a video for bean tacos, but she accidentally used salt instead of sugar in the salsa. Everyone's faces on camera were priceless when we all took a bite at the same time. Now we double check our ingredient labels before cooking along!

My friend Mia tried a group Zoom bake-along last year. She was making banana bread and grabbed what she thought was the cinnamon. It was actually garlic powder. The look on her face when she took the first bite was pure shock. We all had to pretend ours was fine to be nice, but it was truly awful. She still gets teased about savory banana bread.

How do you even mix those up? The jars are totally different. Cinnamon is in a skinny little thing and garlic powder is in a big shaker. That had to be a pure panic move, just grabbing the first brown spice she saw. Honestly, that smell when it started baking must have been weird. Garlic banana bread sounds like a crime.

Seriously, @jake_ellis43, it's way easier to mix up spices than you think... When you're rushing or not paying attention, labels blur and jars feel similar. I've grabbed the wrong thing more times than I'd like to admit.
