PSA: My weekly grocery spend went from $140 to $85 in a month after I stopped buying pre-chopped veggies.

Pre-chopped veggies are a huge time saver though. Cutting a whole butternut squash or a bunch of onions takes forever. For a lot of people, that extra hour is worth the extra few bucks. The math works out if you value your free time at all.

Man, I saw a thing about how those pre-cut veggies go bad way faster. They're exposed to more air so they get slimy in like two days. If you're not cooking them that same night, you're just throwing money straight in the trash. A whole squash lasts on the counter for weeks.

Yeah but have you seen how much they charge for that butternut squash? It's like four times the price. I just poke the whole squash with a fork, microwave it for a few minutes to soften the skin, and then it cuts like butter. Saves a ton of money and maybe five extra minutes.
