Unpopular opinion: Letting your kids pick all the snacks wrecks your weekly food budget
If you cave to every snack request, your grocery money vanishes before you know it. (I watched my budget melt when my nephew only wanted those pricey juice boxes.) Set some basic rules or you'll overspend every time.

Watching your budget melt over juice boxes is too real. My cousin's daughter got hooked on these organic seaweed snacks that only come from one store across town. We drove there in a rainstorm once because she threw a fit, and the whole car smelled like low tide. Now I just keep a secret stash of regular chips for when she visits. Saves my sanity more than my wallet.

Seriously! You hit the nail on the head. My friend's kid only eats those fruit snacks with cartoon characters, and the cost is crazy. I watched her cart total jump by like fifteen bucks from those little boxes alone. It makes you feel so guilty to say no, but you're right, you have to set rules. How do they even know about that stuff?

Ugh, this is so true and it hits way deeper than just snack aisles. I see companies target kid fads to push parents into buying overpriced stuff all the time. Like angela984's seaweed trip shows, it turns simple shopping into a whole stressful mission. That "gotta have it" kid mindset blows budgets and makes life harder. Honestly, learning to say no sometimes is a basic skill for keeping your cash and your calm.
