Unpopular opinion: my mom's $3 bean soup beats every $15 meal kit I've ever ordered
My mom laughed at me last Sunday when I showed her the $72 I spent in one week on meal kits, then made a pot of pinto bean soup with a ham hock and some onion that fed us four nights. I did the math and hers came out to about 75 cents a bowl, mine was $6 a plate, and hers actually tasted better. So what's the meal kit you finally gave up on, and what cheap dish replaced it?

Wait, 75 cents a bowl? That is wild. It blows my mind that a ham hock and some dried beans can feed four people for less than the cost of one fancy meal kit dinner. I tried one of those boxes for a couple months and every single meal came out to at least six bucks a plate, and half the time the veggies were already going soft when they showed up. Your mom is right and she did not even have to say a word, the soup said it for her.
