I skipped the hostel kitchen to save $6 and spent 3 hours hunting a can opener in Lisbon
I used to think cooking in the hostel kitchen was a waste of time, so last week in Lisbon I bought cold groceries to eat in my room instead. The problem was my cheap can of tuna had no pull tab, and I walked around Alfama for almost 3 hours asking shops and even a tiny grocery on Rua dos Remedios before a bartender lent me his. Next time I am just paying the 2 euro kitchen fee and borrowing their stuff. Has anyone found a cheap pocket can opener that survives airport security?
