I kept hitting a wall with my poster layouts feeling too stiff

My clients would probably have a heart attack if I showed them a crooked headline. I'm lucky if they let me use two colors. The timer trick sounds like a great way to get past that need for perfect order. I might have to try it, but knowing my luck, the one random layout I pick will be the only one they hate. How do you even begin to sell a tilted design in a meeting without getting shut down immediately?

Question about the actual pressure rating on some older ASME plates

Hold up, are we sure it was a "mistake" and not just them being extra careful back then? I've seen old houses built to those specs still standing solid after storms that wrecked newer places. Maybe the old number had a bigger safety cushion for stuff we don't even test for now, like decades of wear. Just slapping the new code on everything feels like we might be cutting it too close sometimes.

My habit tracker just hit 100 days of 'no takeout' and I'm shocked

Oh man, the hardest part was definitely fighting my own brain! Every single day it would come up with a new, totally convincing reason why I should just quit. One day it was "you deserve a break," the next it was "this isn't even working." Honestly, the commitment itself wasn't the killer, it was just dealing with me! I had to learn to ignore that little voice that always wanted the easy way out.

My old binoculars broke and I had to choose between a cheap new pair or fixing them myself.

My uncle fixed his old headphones with a toothpick and super glue last year. They still work fine.

TIL those plastic weld kits from the parts store can actually hold up.

No kidding! I had the exact same thing happen with my wheelbarrow. The pan rusted out and I slapped one of those fiberglass repair kits on as a last ditch fix. That was three summers ago and it's still holding strong, even with heavy loads. Totally changed my mind about them. Sometimes the cheap fix is the right fix.
