Skipped the $40 train pass, walked 3 miles in Lisbon instead
I compared the tourist tram pass to just walking the Alfama district. The pass got me nowhere fast, but on foot I hit three miradouros and a bakery with 1 euro pastries. Anyone else find that walking beats transit in hilly cities like Lisbon or Porto?

Honestly, the same thing happens with gym memberships, people pay for all these machines but the free stairwell at work kicks my ass every time. Slow and free usually wins when you actually pay attention to what's around you.
