Blew $340 on a meal kit for 3 months before I did the math
I signed up for HelloFresh back in January thinking it would save me money on groceries. After 3 months I added it up and I was paying about $115 a week for 3 dinners for 2 people, which is way more than just shopping sales at Aldi. Cancelled it and my grocery bill dropped to $70 a week for the same meals. Anyone else get suckered into those intro deals and forget to cancel before the price jumps?
Ah yes, the old "intro deal" trap. They get you with that $40 off for the first box and then slowly crank the price up until you're basically paying restaurant prices for food you still have to cook yourself. Been there with Blue Apron a few years back, and let me tell you, nothing makes you feel dumber than doing the math months later and realizing you've been grocery shopping with extra steps and a middleman taking a cut. Aldi and a little planning will beat these services every single time. Good on you for actually cancelling instead of just complaining about it.
