Fixed my car AC finally after 4 months of tinkering

My AC stopped blowing cold in June and I kept thinking it just needed a recharge (you know, the cheap fix). I wasted 6 weeks and about $80 on those cans of refrigerant before I noticed a slow leak from a tiny crack in the condenser line. Finally swapped the whole line myself last weekend for $35 and it's been ice cold for 4 days now. Has anyone else spent way too long chasing an AC problem that turned out to be something simple?

Did you have that moment where you finally found the crack and just wanted to kick yourself for all the time wasted? I did the same dance with my truck's AC a couple years back, so I feel your pain.

Man, @michael693 you're telling me you did this with your truck's AC too? That actually makes me feel a little better honestly. I spent a whole Saturday tracking down this stupid vacuum leak on my intake boot, turns out it was a tiny crack right behind the throttle body that I couldn't see without a mirror. Almost threw my ratchet across the garage when I finally spotted it.
