Just realized my $20 meal planning app saved me $300 in takeout in one month
I was super skeptical about paying for a meal planning app. Thought I could just wing it like always. But after blowing my grocery budget three months in a row I gave in. Used it for February and my credit card bill showed I spent way less on DoorDash. Down from about $400 a month to under $100. The trick was it forced me to actually use what I bought. Has anyone else had a small expense that ended up saving way more than it cost?

Read somewhere that people who meal plan waste 50% less food than people who don't. That really stuck with me. I started using a free spreadsheet after seeing that stat and it cut my grocery spending by like $200 a month just because I wasn't throwing out rotten veggies anymore. It's CRAZY how much money we waste on food we buy but never eat. For your situation, I bet that app is paying for itself every single week.

Wait, you're saying a spreadsheet actually saved you $200 a month? Honestly I used to think meal planning was just for super organized people who had their whole life together. Ngl I was always the type who bought whatever looked good at the store and then watched half of it go bad in the fridge. But seeing that number makes me rethink everything. Last week I threw out a whole bag of spinach I swore I'd use for salads and it just sat there until it turned into slime. That's like five bucks down the toilet right there. Tbh I might actually try that spreadsheet idea.
