Getting sick of those "perfect" weekly spreads that people post but clearly never use

I see these elaborate washi tape and sticker layouts that take like 2 hours to make, but there's no way they actually track tasks in them with all that clutter. My own spread last week had 3 undone grocery items because I ran out of room. Has anyone else found that simpler layouts actually get more done?

Not losing sleep over it, but the whole point of a planner is planning. If you're spending more time decorating it than actually using it, you're missing the purpose. I tried the fancy layouts for a month and my productivity tanked because I was too worried about making it look nice. Switched to a plain bullet journal with just dates and lines, and suddenly I was actually checking things off. The sticker spreads look pretty in photos but they're basically art projects at that point, not tools. People can enjoy their hobby, but don't pretend a spread covered in tape and die-cuts is functional for real life.

Are you really losing sleep over someone else's sticker choices? It's not that deep, just let people enjoy their hobby.

Whoa, wait, hold up. Did you just say someone's productivity tanked after using a decorated planner for a month? That's wild to me. I have to say, I've never heard of a sticker or a little bit of washi tape making someone miss a deadline. It sounds more like you maybe just took the whole "decorating" thing too far right out of the gate. Most people who do those elaborate spreads are doing them as a hobby, not as a replacement for serious planning. It's like saying you can't enjoy a cup of coffee because the mug it comes in has a picture on it.
