My whole bujo spread fell apart when I stopped using the index

I skipped the index for like 3 weeks last month because it felt like wasted pages, and suddenly I couldn't find anything or make sense of my own logs. I thought the index was just for newbies or people with neat handwriting, but my September turned into a mess of scattered notes and missed trackers. Has anyone else ditched the index and regretted it, or do you actually run a full bujo without one?
