That shipping cost me $8 and I was out a tape measure for over a month. Turns out their 'lifetime' just covers the product, not the hassle. I dug into the fine print on their website and found a whole list of exclusions for things like blades and springs. For a $15 tape measure, it felt like more trouble than it was worth. Has anyone else had better luck getting a quick swap on a tool warranty somewhere?

Used 15 grams of beans from that local roaster in Portland, ground them medium-fine on my Baratza Encore, and did a 30 second bloom with 50 grams of water. Poured the rest in two slow circles and finished at exactly 2 minutes 15 seconds. The taste was actually balanced for once, not too acidic and not burnt. I didn't change anything from yesterday's failed attempt so I have no idea what I did differently. Has anyone else had a random good cup happen for no clear reason?

By 3 PM I had gotten nothing done and had to reschedule everything for Friday. Has anyone else had a day where the schedule just worked against you like that?
