PSA: Stop using your phone to take pics of the moon through a telescope

Disagree on the timer trick. Tried that for months and it just made me miss the perfect focus window while the moon drifted out of frame. The real breakthrough for me was ditching the phone entirely and getting a dedicated planetary camera. Even a cheap $50 USB one plugged into a laptop blows phone shots out of the water. You can actually stack frames in software and pull out detail that no phone mount can touch. That Tycho crater you mentioned looks way better with 500 stacked frames than any single shot.

Took me 3 years as a line cook to learn I was holding my chef knife wrong

Eight years of practice beats any rule. Keep cooking your way.

Debate: Did I waste $400 on a cheap multimeter or was it worth it?

man that sucks i feel your pain. i had almost the exact same thing happen with a cheap meter from harbor freight and it wasted a whole weekend trying to figure out why my car stereo was acting weird. turned out the meter was just lying to me about voltage and i was chasing ghosts. honestly if you're doing anything beyond just checking if a wall outlet is live the cheap meters are a gamble. the reliability is just not there and time is money. i don't think you messed up the settings i think you got a dud and it happens way too often with those budget ones. its a bummer but now you know your buddy's fluke is the gold standard for a reason.

100th flat tire repair finally pushed me over the edge

Bruh 100 flats? I think you’re actually the chosen one for glass. I’m at like 15 flats in two years on my cheap tires and I’m already salty about that. Dayton roads must be made of broken bottles and spite. Maybe try those tire liners everyone talks about? Or just move to a town that doesn't hate cyclists.

My copy of Arkham Horror had a missing card right before game night

Has anyone else ever had to steal a piece from a completely unrelated game just to keep things moving? I had a similar issue last year with a copy of Eldritch Horror. The research tokens were all there except one, and I ended up using a glass bead from my wife's old beading kit. It was ugly but it got us through the game. And hey @emery965, I get what you mean about things just happening, but sometimes you gotta get creative when the missing pieces show up at the worst time. I still think game companies should package the cards a little tighter so this kind of thing happens less often.
