Found out last Tuesday my handshake deal on a $2,500 job wasn't worth the paper it wasn't written on
Met a guy at a diner in Reno who swore a verbal agreement on a bathroom remodel was binding as long as we shook on it, and I believed him until my cousin (a paralegal) laughed and said good luck proving any of it. Now I'm out $2,500 with no contract and a guy who stopped answering his phone. Anybody know if a text thread counts as a written agreement in Nevada, or am I just eating this one?
