Check your coolers before you buy, walked a whole hog operation in Des Moines yesterday
The walk-in at that place had a puddle of blood under the rail that looked like it had been there for days, and the guy running it told me they 'rinse it out Fridays', so has anyone else seen big outfits skip basic floor maintenance like that and what do you do when you spot it on a delivery?
Honestly that’s wild but I’m not even surprised. I walked into a place outside Omaha last spring and the cooler floor was so sticky my boots made that peeling sound with every step. The manager just shrugged and said they do a deep clean once a month, which was a straight up lie cause you could see the grime buildup in the corners. I called the health department on my way home that day, not gonna lie. If they can’t keep the floor where meat hangs clean, I don’t trust the temp logs or the dates on anything back there. You gotta call it in, man, that’s the only way these big outfits pay attention.
