My cable box swap looked cleaner, but the floor got worse

I spent a Sunday last month rerouting every cord behind my TV into a single fabric sleeve, and the front view looked great for about a week. Then I noticed the real mess just moved lower, the power strips and adapters now sit in a tangled mound on the carpet that I trip over daily. Has anyone else fixed the visible clutter only to create a hidden hazard that's honestly more annoying?
