My friend's fiddle leaf fig went from bare to bushy in 8 weeks.

Wow, five flowers in three weeks? That's pretty wild. I guess peace lilies can bounce back fast when they're happy, but I wonder if it was mostly the water wake-up call and not so much the light change. I've had plants perk up from a deep soak before but then go back to looking blah if I move them somewhere different. They're so finicky half the time it feels like luck more than anything specific.

My tomato cage collapsed and took out my pepper plant last week

Used to think all tomato cages were the same" Wait, you're telling me a square one costs more and actually works? I used to just grab whatever was on sale.

Vent: My 1998 Delta shower valve cartridge finally gave up the ghost

Man, I feel this. Two hours on a single valve is brutal but sometimes that's just how it goes. I spent almost that long on a bathroom sink cartridge a few years back and my knuckles were raw from the cramped space. People don't realize how much patience those old Moen parts demand once they've been sitting for decades. The hairdryer trick is smart though, I'll have to remember that one.

Old timer told me to never use canned air on shutters. He was right.

Right @julia92, seems like Pete had the manual before the manual existed. I'm just over here with my disposable cameras trying not to break the winding wheel.

That moment I realized I was scheduling wrong for a whole year

That Friday idea is interesting. I actually read something from a project management blog a while back that said Friday afternoons are when most teams actually solve their biggest problems because there's less pressure to be "productive." Your mileage may vary of course but it stuck with me because it makes sense in a weird way.
